Essential: at least two science / mathematics A levels, the combination depending on the option preferred.

M.Phil. Degree
The Institute of Astronomy does not routinely offer the 1-year M.Phil. degree. However, occasionally, it is possible for students with certain 1-year scholarships, notably Churchill and Marshal Scholars, to pursue a 1-year M.Phil. in Astronomy. The degree is exclusively by research and a project and supervisor will have been identified during the application process. The Institute of Astronomy does not offer any taught postgraduate degrees.

All students must obtain the equivalent of a UK upper second class 4-year undergraduate honours degree, however, competition for Ph.D. places is such that offers of admission are made almost exclusively to students who hold, or are expected to receive a 1st class honours degree, or equivalent. 1、本科入学条件：
