suffer 指一般的损害、痛苦等等,但suffer from指长期的或习惯性的痛苦或困难。

1)suffer 用作及物动词时 译为 遭受,蒙受;后常跟pain/defeat/loss/poverty/hunger/punishment/hardship/damage 等2) suffer 用作不及物动词时 后常跟介词from,表示“受......折磨;受......之苦,患某种疾病”。
