Civil defense officers said a 50-strong emergency group with police dogs was sent to Adana to look for survivors in the fallen buildings. Turkey's Red Cross Muslin aid organization sent 400 tents, 2,000 blankets and two moveable kitchens to Adana, where officials used television to attract people to spend the night outdoors for fear of aftershocks.
