Changes in my hometown In the past, the living conditions in my hometown was very hard. The roads were narrow and the houses were small and dark. Usually, a big family crowded into a small and dark house. Children studied in an old school, and some children couldn't go to school because of their poor families. The communications were simple and slow.People kept in touch with their friends and relatives far away mainly by letter. When people went to town ,they could only walkde there or rode a bike. Now,my hometown has improved a lot.The roads are wide and the buildings are becoming taller and brighter. The government has given support to the poor families, so children in poor families can go to school, too. They can study not only in a modern school but also on the Internet. The communications are becoming easier and quicker.People can use telephone, cellphone, the Internet and so on.People can go to the town more easily. They can ride a motorbike or take a bus . Some people can even drive their own cars. Thanks to the government's efforts ,my hometown is becoming better and better.

My home town is a beautiful place. It stands beside a wide river and is rich in fish and rice.
But in the old days it was a poor and backward little town. Many people had no work. They lived a hard life.
In 1949 my hometown was liberated. Since then great changes have taken place there. The streets have been widened. Factories, schools, hospitals, cinemas and theatres have sprung up one after another. The life of the people is greatly improved.
I love my hometown. All the more I love its people. They are working hard so as to make it still richer and more beautiful.
Great Changes in My Hometown
I used to live in a small town with trees all around. There was no tall building and the only street was narrow. Just outside the town, there was a river. You can see different kinds of fish swimming in the clear water. People here lived a simple life.

XXX is my home town.It is a beautiful place. There used to be many green hills and trees around.A lot of rivers went through the town. Most people lived in old houses.Nowadays, all things have changed over the years, and people in the town become richer and richer. Many new roads and new buildings have been built.People moved into nice and big flats. In the past, people could only go to Town by bike or on foot. Now,people can take their own cars. The changes have brought many advantages, but also caused many problems for people. There is not fresh air or clean water because of the pollution from factories. But most young people like the changes because the changes have brought them a modern life.
