The japanese anime, Black Butler, takes place in Europe, Britain, during the Victorian era. The main character, a shockingly young earl named Ciel Phantomhive by the age of twelve; has a rather particular butler working for him. The butler, Sebastian, a tall man that is constantly dressed from head to toe in black, is a demon.
The young earl and his butler have a rather complicated relationship. Ciel's parents were murdered, their manor burned to the ground, and Ciel was stranded away. As he experienced all of these calimities, the identity of the killer is still unknown to the small boy. Yearning to know the truth, the child established a contract with a demon— who is Sebastian. Promising to reward the crafty demon with his soul as a meal after he had sought revenge, Ciel and Sebastian journeys off on quests for the young earl's 'justice.'
