Mother"s Day was first suggested in the United States in 1872 by Julia Ward Howe as a day dedicated to peace. A campaign to establish a National Mother"s Day was begun in 1907. It was successful, by 1911 Mother"s Day was celebrated in almost every state in recognition of[1] the influence mothers have in the making of better citizens.

In 1914, President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed that the birthday of Mrs. Anna Reeves Jarvis, the "mother of Mother"s Day[2] ", would become the National Mother"s Day of the United States. And that from then on, the second Sunday in May would be Mother"s Day in memory of the work Mrs. Jarvis had done to bring families together after the Civil war, her work to bring the whole North and South together, her work to honor all the mothers of America throughout history and on into the future, but most of all to honor Mrs. Anna Reeves Jarvis as America"s National Mother. President Wilson asked that the American people fly the United States flag from public buildings and homes on that day as he said, as a public expression of our love and reverence[3] for the mothers of our country.

Well, what value is Mother"s Day now? As the Congress said in 1914, it reminds people of[4] the influence mothers have had in the making of better citizens. Jarvis was one such mother. On Mother"s Day much attention is given to the important part that each mother plays in giving her children a sense of what is right and what is wrong, what is good behavior and what is bad.

If the observances[5] of Mother"s Day can even in a small way remind mothers of this, then this day will help both the families and the whole country.

My mother usually gets up early. She makes breakfast for us . And she takes care of us carefully.So we love our mother very much.
Before several days, I read a story in a book. The story was like this:It was a girl's birthday one day. On that day,she argued with her mother .
And her mother didn't know it was her birthday.But later she knew it and then she sent her daughter a card. When her daughter received it ,Her eyes
weres in tears. She said to her mother:"Mon,you're my good mother."This is teal story.It moves me so deeply.
I still remember the story happened when I was at the age of 7. At a cold midnight,I caught a high fever,my mother felt very anxious and she took me to
to the hospital as quickly as she could.The doctor said to her:"Your daughter will be well. Don's worry."The my mother felt little relieved.
I think my mother is an amazing mother. Because she wosks hard and never complains. Althoug I didn't send my mother gifts this year ,on the next Mother's
Day ,I will do as follows:
First:send a card and a flower to her.
Second:help her do housework.
I also want to tealize her wishes:get a good grade in my study. And I'll be a good daughter and she is absolutely proud of me.

Mother’s Day
Mother’s Day is a holiday when children honor their mothers with cards, gifts and flowers. In many countries, such as Denmark, Finland, Italy, Turkey, Australia and the US, people celebrate Mother’s Day on the second Sunday in May while many other countries of the world celebrate their own Mother’s day at different times through out the year.
One of the best ways to celebrate Mother’s Day is to give your mom the day off. Let her relax with the rest of the family doing all the housework. Usually, dad and the kids will let mom sleep late that morning as they go into the kitchen to prepare her favourite breakfast. Never forget to place a vase with a single flower on the table beside the food. The kids can pick up the flower from the garden or buy one from the shop. Arrange everything nicely before mom wakes up. Some families will carry the food and mom’s favourite sections from the newspaper to her bedroom so that mom can have breakfast in bed. Presents and cards from the kids can be handed to mom by themselves or just placed on the dining table.
After breakfast, go anywhere mom likes to go. Shopping, swimming or going on a picnic in the garden. Make a special Mother’s Day dinner or take mom out for a great meal in a famous restaurant she loves most.
Anyway ,let mom enjoy the whole day and feel your love, and then the Mother’s Day can be a good one. As Mother’s Day is around the corner, it’s time to take actions!
