The line chart gives information concerning the percentage of elderly aged 65 and more in Japan, Sweden and America over 100-years period since 1940.
In 1940, the proportion of elderly stood at 5% in Japan, almost 7% in Sweden and almost 9% in America,respectively. During 1940 and 1980, Sweden and America showed a similar trend, slitghtly increasing to almost 13% and 15%. By contrast, there was a decrease in the number of the old people in Japan reaching at almost 3% in 1960 follow the by a remaining stable. The percentage of elderly in Japan and Sweden experienced increasing trends, increasing to approximately 27% and 25% from 1980 to 2040. Between 1980 and 2020, America stable at almost 14%, but over 2 decades, the percentage of elderly increasing to approximately 23%.
To summarise, for somereson the percentage of elderly was increasing.
