英语中两个动词是不能直接连在一起用的，后面这个动词一定要看前面这个动词的要求来表现，可能是用不定式，也可以是用动名词，也可以用原形动词，如：
I like to play baseball.
He enjoyed playing tennis.
The mother made the boy turn off the TV.
The boy was made to turn off the TV by his mother.
The Soviet Union has ceased to exist.
Have you finished writing an answer to his letter?
