《此情可待》英文原唱是理查德·马克斯。
理查德·马克斯，美国男歌手。1986年，EMI唱片公司高层听过他的试唱带后，决定签下唱片合约，理查德·马克斯从此正式开始歌唱生涯。1987年，发行的个人首张专辑《持续回归》在全球销量300万多张，随后，发行第二张专辑《Repeat Offender》在全球销量1000万张，并被《滚石》杂志授予其“最佳男声新星奖”。
2004年2月，与路瑟·万德罗斯共同创作的单曲《Dance With My Father》获得格莱美奖度歌曲奖。2005年，创作的歌曲《Be Here》连续六周获得Billboard乡村排行榜冠军。2014年7月，发行专辑《Beautiful Goodbye》；7月，先后在中国举行多场《细诉心声》演唱会。
