1 选D 因为这是定语从句 under whose roof 是连在一起看的 意思是 在谁的屋顶（在英语有时把物当成有生命的东西，所以用whose 谁的）
不选AB的原因是 which和that只能单纯得指物或人 不存在逻辑关系 就是说他们不能表示“谁的”这个含义。虽说its可以表“谁的” 但是这是定语从句，只能用whose
2 不能用what 因为用what的前提是谓语动词do的后面没有跟宾语，what作为其前置宾语 而在例句中 do之后有宾语more（更多的）所以用what就没道理了 用一个副词how 来修饰do 表示怎样做 而不是做什么。
3 填What It和Which
第一个是what代替了后面的那句话最为主语，主语不是一个词而是一个句子，即China has the largest population in the world是主语 由what代替 放在句首。
第二个是It的一种用法 它作为形式主语代替后面的一句话的真正主语China has the largest population in the world。
第三个是定语从句 是非限制性定语从句 也是which代替了那句话。
