A businessman needed a secretary. He advertised in a newspaper.
Secretary wanted. Must be able to type, take dictation, use a computer, speak a foreign language. Telephone Mr. Brand at 679-8455 for immediate interview.
Many people applied for the job. The best applicant, however, was not a person. It was a dog. The businessman asked the dog to come for an interview. When the dog came into his office, the businessman was very impressed.
His coat was clean and neat. He had good ears and a cold nose. He wagged his tail in a friendly way.
"I am going to give you a test," the businessman said. "If you pass the test, you can have the job, even though you are a dog."
The businessman gave the dog a test, and he passed with high marks.
He was able to type 145 words per minute. He took perfect dictation. He could use a computer.
"You have done very well," the businessman said. "I have only one more question to ask you. What foreign language do you speak?" The dog looked at him, and said, "Meow!"
