As I shopped with a friend today, we saw a young woman who looked like a student kneeling by the road. There was a sheet of paper above her which stated that she had been forced to quit school because her parents suddenly became very ill, and that she hopes for kind-hearted people to help her. Yet almost no one reached out a helping hand. This is understandable, since just a few days ago the news reported a similar incident that was actually a scam. I think that in today's well-developed society, if anyone had to quit school because of his or her parents' sudden illness, then the school would be first to provide aid. The government has also introduced many policies to help impoverished students, such as student loans.
