I was once on a swim team. The only thing that stopped me from achieving a high level was my fear of diving. I'm afraid to dive into the swimming pool from the diving board. I was happy when we moved away from China and I was allowed to leave the swim team.
When we moved to America, I was told to choose a sport from basketball, volleyball and track. I was a fast runner when I was young, so I chose track. I was fast enough to be encouraged to join the 100-meter race. Unluckily, I missed practice once a week because I had piano lessons. I was unable to keep on practicing and a girl took my place. Track went away from me as I continued to miss practice to attend my music lessons.
Gradually, I lost all interest in sports. I began to dislike P.E. classes, even though it had been one of my favorite classes. When I stopped playing sports, I began to get fat. And I stopped growing taller as well. I was upset that by body became so short and fat. So I decided to start running again. That summer, I felt happy that I lost about twenty pounds.
Keep on doing something; even if you don't think you're good at it. I did a bad job. I let small things get in my way of achieving higher goals.
Play a sport and keep on doing it. Preserve and you'll succeed in your life.
