Nowadays, the press has been focusing on a series of news that some fallen elderly on the pavement were in great need of help but other lookers-on fail to give a hand in terms of self-protection. The most famous ones include that one elderly woman tumbled along a pavement resorting for help but just stayed there long without a helping hand. A recent case having been heatedly debated on is about a little girl named Xiaoyueyue who has been crashed into by two cars but nevertheless failed to receive help from eighteen passers-by, and eventually lost her life.　　Majority of folks support the idea that we should give a hand to those who need help when walking alongside the streets, rivers and so on. Sympathy is an instinct of ours and if we fail to save other lives in terms of fearing danger or troubles, we would more or less receive moral condemnation and pubic critics. Besides, it is crucial for the victim to receive help while it is easy for us to give a hand.　　On the other respect, minority of individuals refute that it is too disturbing and dangerous for us to engage ourselves in such cases. They argue that when we are trying to assist a stranger such as a girl sinking into the sea, we may actually be risking our life. Apart from this, even if we successfully rescue the life of others, ill-disposed comments may point to us and to make matters worse, we may finally become a suspect of all the case rather than a hero to be praised.　　After weighing the pros and cons, I am prone to agree that we should save the life of others when they demand help. But as a premise, we should first call the police or relevant personnel for helo and ask other people to help together in consideration of danger or other factors.

Recently, many people witnessed cases where the elderly fell down on the roads but no one daredto help.Instead, they just stood nearby,talking nonsense. There may be some reasons for it.They are afraid of being mistakesn as troublemakers to pay the medical care expenses for the elderly they help. Still, some people think it not their duty to help others.And even some fear it may do more harm than good to the elderly suffering serious diseases, if they lackproper first aid treatments.As far as I'm concerned, to respect and help the elderly is an excellent traditional virtue of the Chinese people. I will not hesitate to do whatever I can to help the old in need.In addition,our society should admire the people who possess the moral courage.答案不唯一

Should you help the old when he/she falls down on the street？In current days , with the development of society and economic ,series of social problems are appeared. In order to analyze this phenomenon three universities in Beijing jointly distribute an opinion poll about “Should you help the old when he/she falls down on the street？”.From the result of this survey, we know that 29.6 percent of the people are surveyed think that whether they help the old or not will according to the circumstance. The people who will help the old are the most ,they accounted for 64.8 percent of them. And also have 8.3 percent hold the view that the old shouldn’t be help.Why don’t they help the old falls down on the street? 5.3 percent of them are lack of medical knowledge. And 7.2 percent of them think that it’s not related to them. But the major, 87.4 percent of them are afraid of getting themselves into trouble.Through this result, we can see clearly that crisis of confidence between people. Sincere and confidence are replaced by dishonest and hypocritical. Cautious and alert are deeply rooted.In my opinion, we all should help each other. Respect and take good care of the old is the traditional Chinese virtues. When we meet the case, we’d better call health care workers for help. Because we lack of medical knowledge may cause more harm to the old. I hope there is less harm and more worm in our life.
