This is a piece which belonged to one of my world traveler friends. It is gorgeous butterscotch amber and appears to be either sterling or sterling over brass or some combination of the two. I think there is a mark near the clasp but I am unable to read what it says. It has some small soldering marks on the back side which show it to be a nicer metal and hand crafted. It measures 2 inches across and is in very good condition. It has a modernist designer type flair and I believe it was purchased in the 1950s but I am unsure if it was new then. Very awesome piece. I have seen similar items sell for hundreds of dollars. I have not polished it. Perhaps the sterling mark will be more apparent then.
