It was not until I found that I had made many low-class mistakes because of nervousness in the NMET (National Matriculation English Test) and NMET 2 that I realized success called for not only enough knowledge but also good mentalities. That's called "Comprehensive Abilities". However, neither the education for exams nor the one for all-around development mention much enough about mentalities. Being lack of pratical experience, students often find it hard to deal with all sorts fo accasions, which leads to nervousness and then failure. They are too tense to make clear how to do and even to remember the basic knowledge to slove problems. That's why one without enough knowledge but good mentalities tend to get a better result than the one without good mentalities but enough knowledge. As a result, graduates understand just after stepping into society that many useful things, like skills with people and with themselves, can't be learnt at school and instead, many things learnt at school are of little or even no use. "But they are exellent at school."some teachers may say. They're right. "At school" means in theory but not in practice. Once students come across occasions which they are not familiar with or haven't met before, they feel terrible . They're poor in psychology. So helpful to success are good mentalities that measures should be taken to improve students' psychology. They ought to be well-trained to handle various occasions in real life. It's a long run. Only when they are calm when facing any kinds of occasions can they succeed. Yet, to place emphasis just on knowledge doesn't work. What they need is pratical experience. Should more activities be held, more chances be offered and more time be given to coach their mentalities?
