In English speaking countries, the lion is called "the King of the Jungle". It represents courage, dignity, power, fierceness, etc. When you are trying to describe how brave someone is, you would say, "He is a lion". Charles I was called "the lion-hearted king" for being bold and valiant in battles, he was referred to as "the Lion-hearted King Charles" in history.

European countries often termed lions as the‘King of the Jungle' to signify courage, magnificence, authority and ferocity. When a man demonstrates valor, he will be complimented as ‘He is a lion’. In the history of England, Richard I was honored as ‘the lion-hearted king’ because of his reputation as a great military leader and warrior. He is also called King Richard the Lionheart.

In English speaking countries, the lion is always compared to the"King of the Beasts", representing courage,authority, power,fierceness and so on. We would call a brave man by saying"He is a lion".In the history of England, Charles I,a gallant warrior,was hornored as "the lion-hearted king", known as "Richard Coeur de Lion".
