GRE 的一道填空题，求翻译，实在对这个逻辑有点顺不清。

The momentary consensus about what the next big thing is seems to come out of nowhere—as if someone blows a whistle only those in the know can hear, and suddenly record executives and journalists are crawling all over what had previously been an obscure locale.

大概的意思，是表现了龟缩在角落里(edges)的一个小众群体，和主流文化（As and Bs) 之间的对比关系。

逻辑定正负，语义定方向。
