recent years, the Orchestra has developed close relations with the guest conductors Herbert Blomstedt, Christoph von Dohnányi, Charles Dutoit and Bernard Haitink. Ton Koopman and Giovanni Antonini, prominent representatives of historical performance practice, also regularly conduct the Orchestra. Over a period of almost 20 years as Chief Conductor until the end of the 2013/14 season, David Zinman exercised a decisive influence on the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, and now holds the title of Conductor Laureate. In the season 2014/15 a new era has been ushered in with the arrival of the new Chief Conductor and Music Director, Frenchman Lionel Bringuier.
