Jilin Normal University, referred to as "Jilin Normal University" for short, is located in Siping City, Jilin Province. It is a key university in Jilin Province. It is also selected by the Ministry of Education for the Outstanding Teacher Training Program. It is also the Jilin Province High School Key Teacher Training Center, the University Teacher Training Center and the Teacher Education Research Center.

Jilin Normal University was founded in 1958 as Siping Teachers College. In 1973, it was upgraded to Siping Teachers College. From 1962 to 1966, the Jilin Provincial Government merged Tonghua Teachers College, Baicheng Teachers College and Jilin Teachers College into Siping Teachers College. In 2002, the school was renamed Jilin Normal University.
