我印象里Scarborough Fair是一首古老的苏格兰民歌，是电影《斯卡波罗集市》的主题曲。我第一次听到它是在美国电影《毕业生》里，这首曲子的旋律曾在那里出现过。第二次听到它时却是在离我住的小镇不远的集市上，这个集市就叫做“Scarborough Fair”。
熙熙攘攘的集市上有各种各样家庭制作的工艺品出售，传统的工匠们展示着他们的手艺。我看到了木匠、石匠、铁匠，还第一次见到了玻璃匠，从头到尾见识了玻璃花瓶的吹制过程。比较热闹的地方是赛马场，剽悍的西部牛仔们跃跃欲试、一较高低，精彩之处四周的口哨声和姑娘们的尖叫声此起彼伏。
赶集的人穿着不知是哪里、不知是哪个年代的传统服装，在集市上载歌载舞，到处可以听到这首歌的旋律，有些如梦如幻的感觉……
