Nowadays, it seems that parents are spending too much time on their work and personal life without paying enough attention to their children's education. They solely leave schools to take care of it. Though they are not wrong, it is surely insufficient. Parents are always the first teachers to their children. Children, particularly young kids, have the tendency to imitate the people which are closest to them, namely their parents. Thus, their interests, personalities, ambitions, etc, are definitely influenced by their parents and these are most likely to follow them for the rest of their lives. By educating their children, parents can also make them less distant from them and have better psychological contact with them. So not only are the educations from parents essential to their children, but it also forms the very foundation of all the educations they are going to have in the future.

Despite these advantages, it is not always easy for parents to find time and energy to become involved or to coordinate with schedules for school events. For some parents, a visit to school is perceived as an uncomfortable experience, perhaps a holdover from their own school days. Others may have their hands full with a job and other children. The availability and cost of babysitters are other factors. Recently, teachers and other school staff have made special efforts to increase communication with parents and encourage involvement in children's learning experiences.
