Thanks for your e-mail and I am sorry to hear that you have trouble in school.Don't worry Mary,I would like to give you my advice.Speaking to others is an important way to make friends.If I were you,I would talk with your classmates of my own accord(主动地)。Usually it's hard to take the first step,but once taking it,you'll find it's not so difficult as you have imagined.
