Today, I surprised to see someone bring a rule with her and I just wonder if this kind of rule suffer you a lot when you was a child.（想要表达的意思是我今天看到了别人的书包里插了一把木尺，那把尺看上去很像我一发小小时候他父母用来打他的一把尺。）（用于调侃我的朋友，希望英文好的大神尽量能把句子修改的诙谐一点。）

这样改一下语法就没什么问题了。但是还是太严肃了，没有调侃的意味在里面。我建议你使用下面这个句子。

I was impressed by the ruler in your bag today. Is it the same one that your parents used to beat you when we were little？
我今天被你书包里的尺子惊呆了。那是不是咱们小时候你爸妈常用来教育你的？
