Report on air conditioning energy retrofit of a reputed hotel in Singapore
In July 1989, Honeywell was commissioned by the hotel authority to carry out a study to improve the air conditioning comfort level and to reduce the energy usage.
During the study, it was found that the space temperatures in many areas were lower than the optimum level. A number of AHUs serving the atrium were selected for the upgrade and mock-up study. The initial results were encouraging. Also, the "auto-tuning" feature makes the controller virtually maintenance free. No servicing or calibration is necessary.
