The design of electronic products, especially the design of stablized power supplies, is a systematic engineering. Parameter design, the design of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), thermal design, security design, the design of waterproof, antimagnetic and shockproof should be all considered. Any fault, even minor oversight, can result in collapse of the power supply. Therefore, we should be fully aware of the importance of product reliability design of power supplies. A kind of switching power supply adopting semi-bridge circuit is introduced. Its input voltage is AC 220V±20%, output voltage is DC 4~16V, the maximum current is 40 A, and working frequency is 50 kHz. The design concept, working principle, and properties of this power supply are described in detail.
