design–manufacturing integration.Fixture design is a
complex task,which serves as a critical design–
manufacturing link(Cecil 1995,Senthilkumar et al.
1999).The development of integrated design–manu-
facturing links in manufacturing enterprises will enable them to respond effectively to changing product
requirements.A generative computer aided fixture
design(CAFD)methodology is a key requisite in this
quest to achieve design/manufacturing integration.
