Due to their fast-paced evolvement, all markets are filled with uncertainties, and traditional analysis method of investment strategies can no longer accurately evaluate the feasibility of an investment project. As a result, options pricing theories are closely scrutinized by people, especially real options pricing, to which researchers are just starting to devote a lot of effort.

This thesis studies real options' basic assumptions, application logic, characteristics, classifications and modeling methods. In addition, it describes the analysis method and process of traditional investment strategies. By comparing these two, it stresses the advantages of real options.
