用什么将来时来表示将来的意思
一般的表将来的词就不再复述了,这里介绍一些相对冷门的
可以用be on the verge of.../brink of.../point of...表示很快要发生的事情
例: People are on the verge of starvation as the drought continues.
Scientists are on the brink of making major advances in the fight against AIDS. (面对新的、危险的或令人兴奋的处境用brink)
be due to do表示期待在将来的某个特定时间点发生某事,be sure/bound to do表示很有可能或一定会发生某事,be set to do表示很快马上要发生某事
例:The company's chief executive is due to retire next year, but following today's announcement of further losses she is sure to be asked to leave sonner.
Her new film is set to be a great success.
guarantee, aim, agree, expect, hope, intend, mean, plan, promise, propose, resolve, undertake, want这些动词+to do表示今后打算做什么,其中部分动词可以原型+to do或动词ing+to do表示目的、打算。
例:We guarantee to refund your money if you are dissatisfied with the computer.
I aim to get to Bangkok by the end of June. (或者I'm aiming to get... I was aiming to get...)
在演讲或报道中,可以用be looking to do表示计划措施
例We're looking to creat 3,000 jobs in the city over the next year.
以上这些用法如果放在过去时中,表示在过去预测将来
例:It was his 64th birthday in 2006 and he was due to retire the following year.
