一只不走运的狐狸，失足掉到了井里。井很深，他无法跳出来。
Agoatpassedby.Heaskedthefoxwhathewasdoinginthewell."Oh,haveyounotheard?"saidthefox."Thereisgoingtobeagreatdrought,soIjumpeddowntogetsomewater.Whydon’tyoucomedownheretoo?"
一只山羊经过这里，便问狐狸在井下做什么。狐狸说：“哦，你没有听说吗?这里将要大旱，因此我跳进来取水，为什么你不下来一起喝呢?”

山羊相信了狐狸的话，就真的跳进井里。狐狸立即跳上山羊的背，又一跳，跳上了井沿。

一次，狐狸请鹤来吃饭。他除了浅盘子中的一点汤以外，什么也没有准备。

狐狸可以轻而易举地喝到汤，但是鹤只够蘸湿他长长的嘴尖。吃完饭后，鹤仍旧很饥饿。“很抱歉,”狐狸说,“这汤不合你的口味”。

“别客气，”鹤说，“过几天请到我家来和我一起吃饭吧。”

三国时代，魏国有个叫卢毓(LúYù)的人，很小的时候就失去了父母和两个哥哥。
