Good morning,my dear professors. It is really a great honor to have this opportunity for an interview and I hope I can make a good performance today. My name is xxx.I graduated from Information and Computing Sciences Specialty of Department of Mathematics in XXX last year.

During four years of my college life, I have learned some courses about math as well as computer. Besides, I have taught myself two courses those are fundamentals of compiling and operating system. So maybe I am a half cross-disciplined student.

When I was a freshman, I was not content with my specialty and the courses I was learning. So I was very confused. Since my sophomore year, I began to learn some courses about computer that I am very interested in. That stimulated me to make greater efforts to study harder. And then I passed College English Test 6 and was granted the second and third class prize several times and gained some kinds of diplomas.

But when I would finish my school, I realized that what I had learned was not enough for my target. I’m eager for furthering study and raising my professional level.

I appreciate the education my university gave me, including the academic knowledge and moral education but I am looking forward to the study and living more intensely in University of Science and Technology of China that I have heard of the precise style of study long time ago. I am sure USTC can provide us with the best academic atmosphere.

I’m confident to say that I am an honest, responsible and energetic person. What’s more, I am easy-going that counts very much in the research for the post-graduate students.

In a word,USTC is one of schools which I most like and so many excellent teachers and professors form the strong scientific research power. If I were given a chance to study in this famous university, I promise I'll try my best to study as much as I could.

1.大学课程

I have learned some courses about math. For example, mathematical analysis, advanced algebra, complex variables functions, discrete mathematics, analytic geometry, and ordinary differential equations. I have learned some courses about computer as well. For example, c language, data structure, computer database, machine vision.

2.参加活动

I have participated the English Speech Contest of department and university, and got champion of our department contest but got nothing in the interscholastic contest. And I have participated the English Play Contest once. It's a pity we haven’t any chance to work for the subjects.

About two years learning of math is very important for me. As we know “math is the mother of sciences”. Much arithmetic is abstract from math. Although my math grades are just so so, yet it cultivates my logical thought. I think on the math base I can learn some computer courses with ease. And I know USTC is always attaching importance to the math learning of students.

3.数学没考好

It is a shame .First, I am so confident so I didn’t pay much attention to the review of math. Besides, to make up the shortage of computer courses, I spent too much time on the computer courses.

4.最感兴趣的是哪个方向

Database . Because it is very practice and widely used in many places, for example school, company. And I believe it has a bright future.

The concepts of database. Structured Query Language. The maintenance, inquire, design and exploitation of database.

5. 评价自己的学校

It is a university with long history. It develops into a comprehensive university with efforts of generations. The specialties about liberal arts, for instance, philosophy, is very famous. It has cultivated many excellence graduates for our province.

Last year, I didn’t aspire to be a post graduate student intensely, so I prepared for the post graduate test insufficiently. I regret for that very much.

I am from , a famous city with a long history over 2,200 years. It is called “Rong Cheng ” because there were lots of banians even 900 years ago. The city lies in the eastern part of the province. It is the center of politics, economy and culture. Many celebrities were born here, for instance, Yanfu, Xie Bingxin, Lin Zexu and so on . . You know, there is a saying that “The greatness of a man lends a glory to a place”. I think the city really deserves it. The top three artware are Shoushan Stone, cattle-horn combs and bodiless lacquerware. In addition, it is famous for the hot springs. Theyare known for high-quality. Visitors athome and abroad feel it comfortable bathing here.There is my beloved hometown.
