When the ship of memory goes down to the history river, there will always going to be some genius that might pop in to our minds. Some people might say,” Everybody knows genius wants to show up, and most people think that they really are a life safer.” Do they really deserve to be called:”the genius?” As a matter of fact, there is not so much genius in the world, but I know one that actually changed the world and his name is Abraham Lincoln.
Unlike his father and mother, he had a great brain full of knowledge. In fact, Lincoln’s father Thomas Lincoln only knew how to sign his name and as much as we know about Lincoln’s mother Necy hank is that she didn’t know how to write at all. Another part of this family is Lincoln’s sister Sarah and his little brother who died when he was born. Sarah and Lincoln were great siblings. They went through their mothers’ death together. Necy died from being very sick, and after she died, Lincoln and Sarah’s world seemed darker and longer. A year after Necy died, Thomas Lincoln (father) married a woman called Sarah Bush Johnston. Johnston brought goods and lit Lincoln read and write. Many many years later, another important person in Lincoln’s life, his sister Sarah, died from sickness. However, Abraham Lincoln outlived then every member in his family.
Lincoln was born in a log cabin that just had one room in Kentucky on Feb.12, 1809. As you know, at that time it was really hard to go to school. If your father and mother were farmers, same thing happened to Lincoln, he had less than one year of schooling. But that didn’t make any difference of how much Lincoln loved to read. He always walked miles just for borrow a book. Bu the time he was 17, he knew that he wanted to be a lawyer. He would walk seventeen miles to watch the lawyers work. Time went by, when Lincoln was 21, he decided to leave his family and work on his dream. He had worked many jobs, and every time he got a new job, he would try to work on a skill that could help him to be a lawyer. In all those years, Lincoln earned respect from people, because he was strong, honest and funny. After all the work he had done, he became a great speaker. This is not the golden part of his life, because this is just the start of it.
After a couple of years, Lincoln became the16th president of America. Have you ever noticed that in the pledge that we say everyday has a sentence about one nation. Well, if Lincoln never lived, then our nation will never have happened. In the past, the southern America and the western America are like two different countries. Lincoln doesn’t have much power to control the southern America, but it is really important to be one nation, so the Civil War begins. Lincoln put all his energy in it. In 1862 the war is over, America became one nation. Another great thing he did for America was gave the slaves their freedom.
All the things Lincoln did for America made himself one of the greatest president of United States.
