To be a fashion designer you need to be able to draw your design ideas freehand and also design with digital media, you can take some drawing courses and also learn to use Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator to design garments and prints. apart from design and drawing, a good designer should be capable to cut the pattern and sew samples, therefore you need to learn pattern cutting and how to use the sewing machine. the fashion world is very competitive and if you have a university degree you are more likely to get into fashion design career.
