About 5000 years ago, settlement organizations began to emerge around the Central Plains and became a country and a dynasty. After many changes and dynasties, the dynasties that lasted for a long time included Xia, Shang, Zhou, Han, Jin, Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties.
In the history of the Central Plains Dynasty, the nomadic peoples in the north were constantly interacting and fighting, and many nationalities merged into the Chinese nation. After the Revolution of 1911 in the early 20th century, the monarchy of China withdrew from the historical stage and replaced it with the Republican one.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, the People's Congress system was established in the mainland of China. China has a colorful folk culture. Traditional art forms include poetry, opera, calligraphy and traditional Chinese painting. Spring Festival, Lantern Festival, Qingming Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival and Chongyang Festival are important traditional festivals in China.

1949年中华人民共和国成立后，在中国大陆建立了人民代表大会制度的政体。中国有着多彩的民俗文化，传统艺术形式有诗词、戏曲、书法和国画等，春节、元宵、清明、端午、中秋、重阳等是中国重要的传统节日。
