The team has a tough challenge, because so many sites detect Internet Explorer and then serve pages in "quirks mode" rather than in the more standards-compliant IE8 default mode. Though de-quirking such pages is easy, that won't happen unless site developers realize they must do so and take appropriate steps. Since IE is still the market leader, I expect we'll see many sites updated at the browser's final release.
