英语插入语问题
What do you think I can do还是what do you think can i do(我觉得是前者)
有人说：是前者因此do you think并不是是插入语。因为它影响句子的语序。我无语了，居然说不是插入语。

而下面这个句子中的do you know可以看做是插入语，也可以看作是宾语前置：

但是，一般情况下，疑问句式的插入语只是就do you think/know/suppose/guess/imagine...来说的。其实，它们也不是插入语，尽管一般人都把它们说成是插入语。原因是，比如以下句子，你把do you think/know/suppose/guess/imagine...拿出来的话，都不能单独成句，因为它们都是从句，而从句都要用陈述语序（——what做主语的句子例外，如下面的第5、7个句子）。而是应该这样来看——当what，when，where，why，how，who等连接词引导的句子作do you think/know/suppose/guess/imagine...的宾语从句时，需要把what，when，where，why，how，who等连接词前置，放在句首。请根据以下句子来理解：
How do you think it has changed you? 你觉得你变了多少？
How do you think I should change the timetable?你看我该怎样改时间表？
How do you think the match will turn out?你想比赛结果会是怎么样？

1、插入语的的定义
汉语对插入语的解释是“在一个句子中间插入一个成分,它不作句子的何种成分，也不和句子的何种成分发生结构关系,同时既不起连接作用，也不表示语气,这个成分称之插入语”。
英语对插入语的解释是“Aqualifying or amplifying word, phrase, or sentence inserted within writtenmatter in such a way as to be independent of the surrounding grammaticalstructure.（在句子中间插入的与上下文的语法结构没有关系的限定或补充的词、短语或句子）”。
2、插入语也叫评注性状语，即说话人对自己所说的话表明个人的看法，常用的插入语有以下几种情况：
副词插入语：frankly 坦白地说， briefly 简而言之，flatly 坦率地说，generally一般地说，honestly 打心里说，personally 就本人而论
短语插入语
介词短语：in my opinion在我看来，in all instances 在一切情况下，in all 总的说来， in briefin brief 简单扼要地说
不定式短语：to befrank with you老实对你说，to put it frankly说得坦白些，to speak from the bottom ofone’s hear 掏心窝子说
分词短语：frankly speaking，putting it frankly，put frankly（=it is put frankly）
句子插入语：I think，if I may be frank，if I can speakfrankly，do you think
3、插入语在句中的位置
根据说话人对自己看法的重视程度，插入语可以放在句首（强调自己的看法），也可以插入到句中（补充自己的看法），还可以出现在句尾（顺便提及自己的看法）。如：
Do you think what I can do?
What do you think can I do? （也叫双重疑问句）
What I can do, do you think?
In my opinion, this is a terrible mistake.
This is, in my opinion, a terrible mistake.
This us a terrible mistake, in my opinion
4、插入语是一种附加的独立成分，即使从句子中剔除出去，也不影响主干句中各种成分的语序，如在疑问句What can I do? 中插入do you think，主干句仍然要保持疑问句的语序。如果用What do you think I can do? 语序，do you think 是主句，what I cando 则是宾语从句。
What do you think can I do? 意思是“依你看，我能做什么呢？”
What do you think I can do? 意思是“你认为我能做什么呢？”
尽管两种结构意思差不多，但是，前者是说话人对自己能做什么提出疑问，顺便想听听对方的意见；后者是说话人直接想听到对方就自己能做什么的意见。

这里才是插入语，去掉do you think 句子仍然完整、句法正确。
