GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
7. Candidates are required to place their Entry Proof and NRIC / Passport / foreign identification
documents e.g. Entry/Re-entry Permit (with photo) on their desks throughout the duration of the paper.
10. Candidates must not, under any circumstances whatsoever, communicate with one another during the
papers.
11. Candidates must familiarise themselves with the instructions printed on the cover page of each
question paper and answer booklet.
12. Candidates must inform the invigilator immediately if they are:
i. issued a question paper that they are not supposed to sit for, or
ii. issued a question paper that does not contain the number of pages or questions as stated on the
cover page, or
iii. not issued supplementary materials (such as writing paper) stated in the question paper.
17. Candidates are not required to copy the questions they are attempting. They need only write clearly the question numbers (including the alphabetical character, if any) in the left margin of the writing paper. No answers should be written in the left and right margins of the writing paper.
18. Unless stated in the instructions, candidates should leave two lines between the answers to
consecutive questions or consecutive parts of a question.
19. Candidates should write on both sides of the writing paper unless otherwise specified in the
instructions.
20. Candidates should not, at any time, fold their answer scripts. Candidates should not divide the page into columns.
23. At the end of a paper, candidates should stop writing immediately when told to do so by the invigilator.If writing paper is used, they should arrange their answers in the numerical sequence of the questions,with the smallest number on top.
24. The answer scripts, together with the cover page provided, should be tied together at the top left-hand corner with the string provided. Alternatively, an answer booklet may be provided.
MALPRACTICE / DISHONESTY
37. Malpractice refers to actions of candidates, either pre-meditated or otherwise, which goes against the
Supplementary Placement Exercise (Eligibility Phase) rules and regulations and which affords
candidates an advantage in the test or enables them to sabotage other candidates’ performance.
Examples of malpractice by candidates are collusion or attempted collusion with other persons;
copying from another candidate; submission of another person’s work as if it were the candidate’s own;and plagiarism.
WITHDRAWAL AND REFUND
43. No refund of the Supplementary Placement Exercise fees paid will be made to candidates who
withdraw from the whole Supplementary Placement Exercise papers or have taken any part of the
papers.
