英语作文的时态问题

比如说，在一篇回忆的（用一般过去时）文章中，当在写一个人的时候，如果有些品质那个人现在还有，比如说“ I gradually knew more about him. He was the guy who had a goal in his life......he also had a good relationship with other people.” 尤其后半句，如果现在他仍然有good relatioship with other people，那么还用过去时会不会让人感觉他曾经有，现在没有呢？但现在时和过去时混用会导致逻辑混乱，那么就是一率都用过去时了吗？

但你总体时态是一般过去时，你可以用一个宾语从句就不矛盾了。
He was a man who had a good relationship with other people.
因为宾语从句的一个规则是主句用一般过去时，从句也得用一般过去时。(*^__^*) ……

如果过去发生的事对现在也有影响，那就要用用完成时
这样写吧：
I have gradually come to know more about him. He is the guy who has a goal in his life......he also gets along well with other people.
