原文如下:
TEST scores always give us a lot of peer pressure. Every single point matters. I got 90 and you got 89? Well, I'm a better student than you!
But that's not right, said an educational committee in France. Recently the committee handed in a report to the country's Ministry of Education and suggested using grades instead of scores for test results, French newspaper Le Monde reported.
Scores could hurt sensitive students and do little to help with their study, said the committee.
At the moment, the total score of each test in French schools is 20 and a score of 12 is thought to be good.
That's different from many other countries.
For example, US schools grade students from Letter A to F. German students get a result between 1-6. Finland doesn't score students under the age of 11. For lowest score they get is 4 out of 10.
Many students in China now also get grades. Schools believe that it will lessen the importance of scores.
But not everyone thinks it's a good change.
It might give students a wrong "sense of accomplishment" and make them want to "praise for everything they do", said an article in Washington Post.
No matter how schools grade them, students “should reflect on what have learned and be prepared to build on what they truly do well and learn from what they do not", said the article.
