从电子商务所具有的特点看,物流是使电子商务所有的优势得以正常发挥的基础;从许多先进技术如EDI(电子数据交换)等在物流系统被采用看,物流业的发展壮大对电子商务的快速发展也会起到支撑作用。
相反,就电子商务而言,其运作要求也将不断地改善物流的运作,这不仅体现在电子商务可为物流活动创造一个虚拟性的运动空间,使物流的各种职能及功能可以通过虚拟化的模式表现出来,在这种虚拟化的过程中,人们可以通过各种的组合方式,寻求物流的合理化,使商品实体在实际运动过程中,达到效率最高、费用最省、距离最短、时间最少的功能;而且也体现在通过电子商务在网络上传递信息的功能,可以使决定物流运动方向和物流的运作方式的信息在分散经营的物流企业间交流、传递,从而有效地实现对物流的实际控制,实现物流的合理化。
不仅如此,在物流的组织和管理方面,电子商务的高效化和全球性的目标也会促使物流企业传统的分散经营、竞争激烈的状态,立足于物流系统的整体利益,改善物流活动的组织、管理以实现高效、合理和系统化的物流活动;而在物流的设施和技术方面,高效率和全球性的电子商务,也会要求诸如良好的交通运输网络、通信网络等基础设施高水平的涉及。
运输、保管、装卸、包装和管理等软硬技术,来保证物流的高效运行。
总之,电子商务将促进物流技术和管理水平的提高。物流技术和管理水平的高低既直接决定和影响着物流效率的高低也影响着电子商务高效率优势的实现问题。只有提高物流的管理水平,建立科学合理的管理制度,将科学的管理手段和方法应用于物流管理当中,才能确保物流的畅通进行,实现物流的合理化和高效化,促进电子商务的发展。
