本首歌为卓别林创作，迈克尔杰克逊于于1997年底作为“HIStory/Blood on the Dance Floor”项目的最后一支单曲在全球（除美国外）发行。甚至这支单曲的电台宣传CD都已制作完成，并收录了一些优秀的混音作品，如“Is It Scary”。
可是，“Is It Scary”的宣传CD却在南非发行了，当时“HIStory”世界巡演正落脚于此。它令人惊异地夺得了当地电台广播榜的冠军。虽然它最终没有作为商业单曲碟发行，不过却也促进了专辑的销售。
