The Mid-autumn Festival, on the 15th day of eighth lunar month, is the second largest traditional festivals after the Chinese New Year. It is the day, which take the moon as a subject, for all the family members to come together, enjoying moon cakes and watching the moon which symbolizes affulence, peace and luck. The Mid-autumn Festival is also regarded as a harvest festival because autumn - all kinds of fruits, vegetables and grains matures at this time - is just a harvest festival. Many moving legends have something to do with the mid-autumn festival, such as Chang'e's flight to the moon.
