" Okay, thank you anyway," she smiled and walked away. She hardly wasn't a beggar as I had thought but all kinds of questions ran through my head. "What if she is in difficulty?" I called out, "How about if I spare half of what I have and you tell me your story?” "I can't tell you my story," she replied. I quickly gave the money to her and turned away. I felt ashamed because I was expecting to get something in return.
I heard her saying, "God bless you." I smiled and went on. After all, I had given my twenty-three dollars to her. It seemed right and made me feel good anyway.
