可不可以写成：He said he must set up his own company.

2.I had to buy a gift for him yesterday.等于？I must bought a gift for him yesterday.

3.He must be from the States.可不可以写成：He must be a American.

4.see(seen)和meet(met)是一样的可以互换的吗？有什么区别吗？

5.-Must we hand in our assignments tomorrow?
-No,you needn't./Yes,you must.
这个为什么用need做否定？

2，had to 用来表过去正确且地道，must 用在现在时或将来时。
3，应该不行，from the States是来自于美国，但不一定是美国国籍的。
4，很多情况下不能互换，用法还是很有差别的，例如，看电影就只能说see a film 而不能说meet a film。如果是表达遇到，碰到某人也有差别， meet是指相互遇到，而see可能就只是单方面看到某人。就好象“我们之前碰过面吗？”就是Have we ever met before?
5,这是规定的用法，不能说you must not.这些微妙的语气和语调也是英语语言美的所在。
