解析：这个年轻人已经成为共青团员两年了。
使用现在完成时，表述一个存在的状态。

The young man did not join the League until two years ago.
解析：这个年轻人两年前就加入了共青团。
使用not ...until结构，来表述。

It's two years after the young man joined the League.
解析：这个年轻人加入共青团两年了。
使用过去式表述一个过去发生的动作。

还有另外一个比较好用的说法。
It has been two years since the young man joined the League.
解析：这个年轻人加入共青团已经两年了。
使用现在完成时，表述已经完成的动作。

注意区别：过去时+after； 完成时+since
