The single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that each Ni(II) ion is six-coordinate with four oxygen atoms and two nitrogen atoms to give a octahedral geometry. The Ni-O distances range from 2.0463(19)to 2.1673(15) Å and the Ni-N distances are 2.0258(17) and 2.0415(18) . In the structure, each carboxylate ligand serving as a biconnector through its two carboxyl moieties bridges two Ni(II) ions to form an infinite 1D chain view along the b axis, demonstrating the helical chain structure along a crystallographic 21 screw axis with a pitch of 15.039 Å.
