本文从女狐及女鬼两方面入手来解读蒲松龄《聊斋志异》中异类女子的形象，从狐鬼本性的美化及强化、异类女子人性的主体意识两个方面对《聊斋志异》中的狐鬼形象进行了细致分析，展现蒲松龄笔下异类女子可亲、可爱、可敬、可叹的美好品性，体现出她们身上对于传统封建礼教的强烈的反叛精神，具有深刻的现实意义。最后，本文从审美角度着手，挖掘这些“多具人情”之女子身上所体现的真情之美、人格之美及人性之美，并试图分析蒲松龄赋予这些心目中理性女性如此之“美”的创作心态以及情感寓意，以此来探讨作者笔下“鬼狐有性格，笑骂成文章”之现实意义。
