我的理解：
令人遗憾的是，如今稍显做作的表演无处不在，一般来说，年轻人是从老师身上学到这些的，可是他们的老师才是竭尽全力指导他们（走出现状）的人 。extraneous ? 不相关的，神马不相关？这个词存在的意义是？
Nowadays some histrionic performances are sadly pervasive,（一种现象，后面是原因）
young people always learn this from their teacher, who（老师） are ones should point out （extraneous） to make the career devoted the most with the least.
最后的部分，make the most 是尽力，竭尽全力， with the least 是说学生的现状
