Abstract:

With the rapid speed at which business globalises, individuals from different cultural backgrounds with different native tongues communicate with one another either directly or indirectly in such a situaion like this. But amonst these communication, English is by far the most important communicating language used in business, as it is regarded as the main international language in the 21st century. Even though in the 21st century, it will continue to be the main language people use in business and science, the culture and native tongue of those who use English to communicate does not disappear. Business English is a practical application of English in business situations, and it is becoming more and more important in the increasingly frequent international business activities. However, at the same time, the importance of culture international becomes prominent as well, with people from different cultural backgrounds each giving it a definition of their own, but in a general sense, culture refers to the combination of knowledge, religion, art, law, ethics, customs and habits and so on. This combination give people who live in certain situations their values and psychological diathesis. It has a binding force and influences the behaviors of those who live in the same contextual background. This exposition will through an examination of the influences of culture on Business English, using the differences in culture's influence on Business English translations, compositions, negotiations as a discussion point, illustrate the deep and close interrelationship between culture and Business English.
