刚接触到英语的学生,容易产生自卑心理、害臊心理、定势心理、
从众心理等等。如学习英语既要学习拼写,又要练习练发音,还要
记句型。这样刚学之初,当然有些费劲,这使得一些学生觉得自己
不是学英语的“那块料”,产生一种自卑心理,因而不敢开口说英
语。

The reason for weakness of middle school student's spoken English generally have two parts:one is internal cause,the other is external cause.
The internal cause
Firstly,the effect of student's personality or psychological reason.Many junior school students haven't learnt English before middle school,let alone English speaking exercise.For many junior school students especially those in grade one,English is a strange language,which they must start from A,B,C.What's more,students also have psychological problems in learning English.It is shown in a research that the level of many foreign language learners relates to their personality.In general,those who are open-minded,confident and responsible do better than those who are shy and lack of confidence.It is easy for students who begin learning English to have feeling of inferiority,shyness, mental set,conformity,etc.English study,for example,requires not only spelling but also pronuciation and remembering of sentence pattern.Hence it makes English study at the beginning hard and that some students feel they hold no gift to study English,which generates inferiority and scares them to open their mouth to speak English.
Secondly,the effect of exceeding personal goal and no mistake requirement.At the beginning of learning,students are with high spirits and are active.As years go and English knowledge improves,they find their English study in a new level and have higher goals for themselves.They would not like to make mistake.For some students who are shy don't even want to speak English before others.
